It is important to understand that shape and cut is not the same thing. Shape is the outward appearance of the diamond. Cut is the reflective qualities that the diamond has. There are some common diamond shapes these are, round, princess, emerald, oval, pear, marquise, heart, cushion, asscher, radiant and trilliant (these shapes are shown at the top of our pages).
There are no real rules to selecting a shape – this always comes down to personal preference. If you need a recommendation, contact our helpful staff.
A well cut diamond exudes the most brilliance and will be more expensive than a too shallow diamond or a too deep diamond that are not as effective in capturing light.
